Nursery groups Just Childcare and Child First have both acquired new settings.

Just Childcare, which operates settings in the North-West, has purchased its 21st nursery, based in Sandbach, Cheshire (pictured, below right).

Kids Corner Nursery and Pre-School is a 137-place setting in a large detached former school with extensive grounds. The nursery was established in 1992.

just-childcareIt is the 15th nursery acquired by the owners of Just Childcare David and Jacqueline Johnson within the last year.

Child First has also purchased a new setting in Oxfordshire, which will open this week. It will be the group's seventh nursery.

Owned by Tom Shea, Child First operates settings in the South East and Midlands.

The new 60-place setting is based next door to the first nursery the group opened in Banbury, Oxfordshire, and offers children the opportunity to move from one building to the other.

Based within a converted Grade II listed church, the nursery has a sensory area, a children’s working kitchen and a collection of ‘work booths’.

Mr Shea told Nursery World, ‘We are opening the a further nursery to meet local demand. We were desperately looking for a way to expand and then the nightclub next door closed. We have converted the building into a free flowing resource for children.

‘Already there has been a great uptake of places. The nursery will also create more jobs in the local area and opportunities for apprentices.’
