Nursery World Conference: Encore for the EYFS show

The Early Years Foundation Stage conference attracted a second round of satisfied delegates and exhibitors - with a third coming up next month

The second Nursery World Early Years Foundation Stage conference wasanother huge success, with 300 delegates from local authorities,children's centres, nurseries and pre-schools convening in London on 30April for a packed day of presentations and debate.

A great line-up of speakers included Ruth Pimentel, national directorfor early years at Primary National Strategies; Jean Humphreys, Ofsteddeputy director for children; Jenny Spratt, head of early years andchildcare services for Peterborough city council; and Julian Grenier,head of Kate Greenaway Nursery School and Children's Centre.

A lively debating session covered topics from the EYFS Profile tophonics in reception, to the new inspection system.

The event was sponsored by National Strategies, along with Film Bank,First Steps, CACHE, Pre-School Learning Alliance, National Day NurseriesAssociation, Parentline Plus, Eibe Play, Siren Films, Hope Education,City and Guilds, and PEAL, who were all delighted with the contacts andorders made at their busy stands.
