RAISING THE FLAG

Bright Beginnings Nursery in Falkirk, Scotland, held a flag-raising ceremony for staff, children and parents after achieving an ECO Schools Green Flag Award. Nursery manager Alison Frampton said, 'Participating in this scheme has brought huge benefits to the nursery. We have recycled ink cartridges, paper, card and cartons and collected clothing for rag bags; we are building a plastic bottle green house and we are even growing our own fruit and vegetables.'

LITTER PICKERS

Children from WizKidz Nursery in Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland, supported the Keep Britain Beautiful campaign by helping to clean up their local park. With their litter pickers at the ready and dressed in brightly coloured overalls, the children completed tally sheets for every piece of litter they found.
