One Plus mentoring service in Glasgow has a new set of fully-qualified volunteer mentors. One Plus is a lone parents organisation that offers one-to-one and group support to lone parents who are experiencing great difficulties. The service is supported by the Scottish Executive and has so far helped 50 per cent of participants to move into employment and further training. Mary Mulligan, deputy minister for communities, said, 'Helping lone parents into work and to access affordable childcare are key parts of our commitment to tackling child poverty.' The service specifically targets parents in the Pollock and Glasgow North areas. Contact One Plus on 0141 333 1450.
