Resources
Disused real telephones or toy, push-button telephones (as realistic as possible) with clearly displayed numbers, telephone directories for local areas, telephone number cards (picture clues on the cards will help children in their selections), index file containing blank cards and/or address and telephone book.
Activity content
* Show the children a telephone directory and talk with them about its purpose. Look up the telephone numbers of, for example, the local toy shop, swimming pool or school.
