Only in England

Once again I have enjoyed reading Nursery World (19 July) with its good range of well-presented articles. However, can I ask please that when quoting Government strategies and policies you indicate that these are normally for England only? The Welsh Assembly moves at a different pace and gives different priorities to the 'English' Government, and it can be misleading to those working in early years in Wales. For example, the news story on page four headed 'CACHE wants say in care standards review'. In Wales we have not yet had the care standards out for consultation, let alone ready to be implemented. So we are quite some way behind England on this issue.

Also the expansion of Sure Start projects is in England only. The feature 'Where to now?' is interesting and it is good to know what the Government plans, but the Welsh Assembly will not automatically follow suit.

I am sorry if this seems pedantic, but I would just like to ensure that our members, many of whom read Nursery World avidly and use its articles in groups and in training courses, have accurate information pertinent to Wales.
