While ducking the issue of how to actually increase pay, the committee recommends that EYDCPs publish typical rates of pay in their area and that the Government ensures equitable pay and conditions for all categories of practitioners across settings. 'People in the early years sector are desperate for training. They're renowned for turning out. Whenever I give talks they're always fully booked. For too long that hunger has been really exploited by low pay.'
