Ms Morrison clearly endorses the book's clarity, style and usefulness and acknowledges the appropriate level of the book, but is unhappy with the contents list and the lack of differentiation between core and option units and internally and externally assessed units. Regarding the first point, in my experience as an early years lecturer, students are much more familiar with the unit titles than their numbers and would not find this method muddling. I also feel that the professional practice underpins the whole qualification and is the one students most readily relate to, thus making it eminently sensible to be at the beginning of the book. As acknowledged by Ms Morrison, there are plenty of 'forward to' and 'back to' markers to help students take a holistic view of the material.
