BATR chairman Val Stedham said, 'This year we've witnessed a resurgence in collectible playground craze toys which will most certainly continue throughout the Christmas period. In particular, we think Beyblades, a contemporary twist on the spinning top, and Micro Pets, the latest interactive one-inch pet that has taken Japan by storm, will drive this trend. What's more, as they are relatively inexpensive, from 6, they'll appeal to parents too. Choosing toys for younger children is very hard , but we think Leappad has it right - a toy that uses technology to help keep a child interested and interacting while learning.'
