Available as a threeor four-day course, it covers a parent's perspective on Portage, an introduction, the home visit, helping children to learn by using clear language, planning for success and taking small steps. Participants are expected to complete two assignments, usually at home, with feedback from tutors.
A weekend residential course, Training for Trainers, is offered for experienced Portage practitioners to become accredited trainers with the association. These individuals have links with the wider Portage community and offer training within the latest guidelines. www.portage.org.uk
