Praise for play at settings all round

Playgroups and nurseries have been praised by HM inspectors for providing children with a wealth of play opportunities. Despite there being no outdoor play area at Newcraigs Playgroup in Kircaldy, Fife, staff were praised for making good use of available space within the building for energetic play. The playgroup provided a 'safe and stimulating environment' and 'there were regular opportunities for children to develop skills and engage in energetic physical play through the use of the climbing frame and games equipment'.

She had established good relationships with staff and parents and was well supported by an active management committee. The staff worked well as a team and met regularly to plan the work of the playgroup.'
