Paper punches are great fun and they can be used by even the youngest children to add colour, shape and detail to their artwork.

Paper punches come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from simple geometric shapes to motifs such as dragonflies, leaves and candles. You can also get punches which are specially designed to make a pattern in the corners or edges of your paper. The average price is 2 to 3, although border or corner punches and larger sized punches tend to be more expensive. Paper punches can be found in most stationery, art and craft and toy shops. There is also a huge selection available on the internet (try www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk or do a search for 'paper punches' on e-bay).
