Resource updated for work with family

A popular support pack designed to help parents and carers become more involved in children's learning and development is to be re-issued in the autumn. The revised version of the Pre-school Learning Alliance's 'Looking at Learning Together' has been updated to include the latest policy developments such as the Birth to Three Matters Framework. It contains a resource sheet on the framework to help staff in early years settings explain to parents what it involves.

It contains a resource sheet on the framework to help staff in early years settings explain to parents what it involves.

The pack provides educational tips for helping children with maths, reading and writing, and covers topics such as how to manage children's behaviour.

Pauline Hennicker, Pre-school Learning Alliance director of family programmes, said, 'It will be of great use in parent and toddler groups and is easily adaptable.'

The updated pack follows consultation with practitioners working with families in pre-schools. One of their main recommendations was to make the resource available on CD-Rom.
