Schools could help

17 October 2001

I totally agree with the recent comments about classroom assistants taking on a teaching role in school. I am employed as a nursery nurse but I spend my time teaching alongside the teacher or working with groups of children. I would be happy to train as a teacher, but unfortunately cannot give up my job to attend university. Surely our schools could help develop some way for us to obtain this qualification. Then we would be financially rewarded for the teaching we are already doing.
