Scientists at University College

Scientists at University College London have been awarded around 180,000 to lead a three-year research project into the effects of epilepsy. The funding from the medical research charity Action Research, coincides with National Epilepsy Week (19 to 25 May). Professor John Duncan, head of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy of the Institute of Neurology at UCL and medical director of the National Society for Epilepsy, said, 'Those with epilepsy can take some comfort from the fact we are narrowing down the likely causes and consequences of this potentially devastating disease of the brain.'
