Leapfrog Day Nursery in Mill Hill, part of Nord Anglia, the UK's largest nursery chain, was issued with a notice of compliance to improve practice in February.
Inspectors said that children at the nursery experience a 'greater risk of cross-infection, as staff do not change their gloves after each nappy change', and that children's safety was being compromised by 'ineffective organisation and procedures in place to protect their welfare'. The nursery was issued with special measures to address the 'inadequate' quality and standards of nursery education.
A spokesperson for Leapfrog Day Nurseries said that an action plan had been put in place. 'The issue of cleanliness was tackled immediately and a new system is in place to ensure high standards are met. An intensive training programme is already underway to bring staff up to standard on areas like Birth to Three, child protection issues and anti-discriminatory practices.'
