Simon Vevers

It is with great regret that Nursery World has to report the death of Simon Vevers, long-standing and highly respected contributor to the magazine, after a short illness.

Simon was a freelance journalist, but was truly part of the NurseryWorld team as over the past decade he wrote news, analysis or featuresfor almost every issue of the magazine.

Simon had a deep and genuine passion for early years education and care,and built up a huge knowledge of policy and practice over the years. Hewas in regular contact with many leading figures throughout the sector,always gaining their trust and respect, and was frequently praised forhis incisive and insightful reporting. He also wrote many articles forthe National Day Nurseries Association.

Everyone at Nursery World will miss Simon very much, both personally andprofessionally. Our thoughts are with Simon's wife Penny and their twochildren.
