Skating on thin ice

Wow! I don't know what setting Rachel Gallagher has, but isn't it great that she apparently has so much space to accommodate geographically correct small-world play scenes (Letters, 25 May). She should have two Tuff Spots (at opposite ends of the setting, of course!). One should be labelled North Pole for the polar bears and the other labelled South Pole for the penguins.

The rest of us will have to continue encouraging the children to use their imaginations while we give them the information about where the animals live - perhaps on our displays around the small world areas.
