Skelmersdale College

(Photograph) - Children and staff at Skelmersdale College welcomed Chris Cheetham, Lancashire county council's cabinet member for social services, when he officially opened the town's first Neighbourhood Nursery and out-of-school club. He said, 'One of the main barriers many people face in trying to access training or employment is finding suitable childcare. This nursery will make a real difference to the community and help mums and dads wanting to go back to work, who need to know their children are in safe hands.' The 38-place First 4 Kids nursery and 16-place out-of-school club provide full-day care from 7.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, for children aged nought to 14. Photo: Denis Oates
