It's a great activity for clubs catering for a wide range of ages and abilities, since methods varying in difficulty can be learnt. Layers can be created in different ways and there are various cutting and sticking techniques to try, each giving a different effect.

At the easiest level, single, bold images can be stacked to create an eye-catching design that looks great as decoration on anything from greeting cards to storage boxes. This simple technique can be dramatic - imagine three vibrant, identical sunflower pictures cut out and stacked, each raised layer visible against a black background, or perhaps stunning pink gerberas presented on electric blue.
