* A new purpose-built nursery for children aged six months to five years opened at a Sure Start Children's Centre in Clayton, East Manchester, on 3 May. The facility will offer day care for 64 children and 26 free creche places for parents involved in Sure Start and New Deal activity. The centre has a large outside space with climbing frames, wooded area and eating area. The gardens will be available to local children after school and at weekends.
