Filming tips take 2 As part of an introduction to using moving images in the nursery, get children to talk about their favourite films - why they like them, who the main characters are and how the film makes them feel. Show them a digital video camera, explaining two basic shots - the wide shot and close-up. Use key vocabulary such as digital video camera, tripod, record, cut, film, zoom, wide, close-up and shot. Explain that if they want to be directors then they will have to plan their production on paper first, using pictures to explain what they want to film - this is called a storyboard. Ask them to draw in order the shots they would like to film.
