This is a pack of A4-size glossy sheets that set out the many things parents can do to help their children with talking and listening skills from birth to three years. The pack is lavishly illustrated with beautiful photos and the simple and friendly text is excellent, striking just the right informal note but grounded in a deep understanding of language and communication in the early years.

The sheets include guidance on lots of simple activities, as well as the words of many nursery rhymes, songs and finger-play rhymes. There is no hint of hot-housing babies and toddlers, and the 'important messages' are simply set out in amber shaded boxes. For example, 'Remember that babies develop at different rates'; 'Talking and listening can be fun: enjoy them together'; 'Listen and watch to find out what your child needs to do next'.
