The Big Picture - Grand design

An £8m investment has helped Grange Primary School in Southwark to construct a new nursery building.

The school has been remodelled as part of Southwark Council’s programme to create 3,000 extra school places, with a complete renovation of the existing Victorian school.

The nursery will provide 25 places, and will offer 30-hours childcare from January 2018.
A donation from the Worshipful Company of Weavers has allowed staff to equip the nursery with a set of Community Playthings furniture.

Councillor Victoria Mills, cabinet member for children and education (pictured), said, ‘It has been fantastic to hear from parents, teachers and the children themselves about how the improvements to the school have had such a positive impact on school life already.’
