Told off and rewarded

I have recently been given an extra responsibility at school. Alongside my longstanding position as teaching assistant in a reception class, I am now holding two afternoon sessions a week with other children in the school in circle time. I have not been doing this long and am so far enjoying it. I love helping to build up children's self-esteem, a definite cause of so many psychological problems in life! But one issue has caused me great concern recently.

It is simply the fact that many of the children are not being shown how to behave. From our conversations following Jenny Mosley's circle time guidelines about 'what makes us sad', I have discovered that although these children are aware that they have done something to make their parents or the grown-ups in their life cross, they do not show any remorse.
