'The Joy of Water - The Source'

Water has not only shaped the face of the planet and the form of every living thing on it, but it is also central to the culture and psyche of human beings. This first programme in a five-part series goes in search of an ancient holy well in Somerset and uncovers the origin of water on Earth in a story connected with one of the great Indian creation myths.

For many English and French women during World War Two, American GIs were an exciting foray into the world of romance. Researcher Pamela Whitfield estimates that between 10,000 and 100,000 children resulted from their chance encounters. She is president of TRACE, a non-profit group that helps these children find their missing fathers, as shown in this five-part series.
