In this four-part series the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, tackles some of today's most significant moral and social issues. In this first programme he asks if the advances in genetic research are running ahead of our ability to supervise it, or if genetic science brings huge benefits that humanity should willingly embrace. Dr Williams talks to Sir John Sulston, Nobel Prize winner and the guiding spirit behind the Human Genome Project, and to Shahana Hashmi, who recently won a legal battle to use embryo selection in order to help her son overcome a fatal blood disorder.
