Upshifting staff

In the school where I teach we recently had to lose two members of the teaching staff and three classroom assistants in order to show that we are making efforts to reduce our budget deficit. On the other hand, we are now trying to find ways of releasing staff for non-contact times - something that we did not have last year. To do this, our remaining classroom assistants are being asked to take on a greater role in the classroom, yet still they do not have a reasonable salary, pay structure or standardised working hours.

Some of our Government officials should try working within our schools to see what really goes on.
