Violence study aims to protect more children

The conference is a result of a cross-border Liaison Group with representatives from the UKand the Republic of Ireland set up to develop inter-country initiatives on crime-related issues. Jane Hutt, Welsh minister for health and social services, told the Welsh Assembly last week that she has also called for the setting up of a working group on domestic violence and violence against women, and that a 'model protocol' was currently being produced which would be issued to all Area Child Protection Committees in Wales.
