We are responsible

As a registered childminder since 1989, if I had six children during the day they would be pre-schoolers and I would need an assistant as we can only cater for three under-fives. This includes our own children. I regularly practice emergency procedures, including plans for what happens if I am injured or unconscious. I also arrange emergency help lists with local childminders, and open-house facilities and outings to prevent minders becoming isolated.

Income received from childminding goes back into my service provided and does not cover an assistant's wages, unless I did have six children eight to ten hours a day.
