The above heart-warming comment was made recently to me at a parent-teachers' association fun night. Yes, I thought to myself, that's what it's all about. If we can engage with parents or the children's carers, we are heading in the right direction towards partnership. However, I argue that partnership - real partnership (where parents are seen as equal and not just involved) - is in its infancy.
