This is aimed at practitioners who want to help young children aged four to 11 manage their worries. It uses a 'talk through' framework for the adult and child to talk and work together. The author explains that the book is about helping young children to develop their emotional intelligence when it seems their emotional brains shout louder than their logical brains.

There is a brief summary of emotional development in young children and how to use the ideas and framework in the book appropriately. The first chapter outlines how to identify what the problem is for the child, involving the child in doing some work to help them with their worries and then enabling the child to choose who they would like to work with.
