A petition urging the Government to establish a 'well-funded, well-trained universal health visitor service', available to all parents of children under five, with specialist support for the most vulnerable families, has been started by trade union Amicus. The petition comes as Amicus and the Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association warn that half a million visits to families by health visitors are being cut as PCT's try to clear debts.To sign go to www.petitions.pm.gov/Healthvisitors.
