Opinion: Editor's view

We're bringing back a popular resource for reading and display.

Nursery World always strives to be a really useful resource for early years practitioners. So with that in mind, we're delighted to be bringing back the A2 colour posters that have been such a popular feature of the magazine. The first one is published free with next week's issue (10 September).

The first series of six posters is on the theme of Collections and, as an introduction, this week's 'All About...' four-page pull-out by Diana Lawton provides excellent guidance and ideas on how collections can extend children's learning across the curriculum (see pages 19-22).

Diana looks at how collections can support children's schemas, while stimulating curiosity and imagination. She offers ideas for creating and using collections as part of continuous provision, shows different ways of presenting collections, and gives guidance on the adult's role.
