Opinion: Editor's view - We can all start looking forward to the Nursery World Show

It might seem early to be thinking about next year, but it will be here before you know it, so it's a very good time to be planning a visit to the Nursery World Show 2010 on 22-23 January at London's Business Design Centre. Registration is now open at www.nurseryworldshow.com and entry is free.

Several surveys of early years practitioners one year on from implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage have identified areas of practice that need support, and so we've come up with a great programme of seminars, led by some of the top names in the sector. The show will be an ideal opportunity to fit in some high-quality CPD training, as well as visiting a large number of stands displaying the latest equipment and resources.

Many practitioners cite environment as an area where they would like to develop their knowledge, so we're delighted that Helen Tovey of Roehampton University will be talking about the importance of introducing risk and challenge into an enabling environment. Liz Cross of Surrey local authority will be looking at the hot topic of ECERS and ITERS environmental scales, while Mary Dickins will cover inclusive environments.
