Business Management
The Just Childcare group, which operates nurseries in the North West, Yorkshire and the South West, has acquired Kiddy Factory Nursery in Liverpool.

Kiddy Factory Nursery, which has served the Speke area for over 10 years, is an Ofsted-rated Good setting, with capacity for 96 children. The single-storey nursery features a large grassy outdoor area and 11 playrooms, including a soft-play gymnasium and sensory room.

Just Childcare also bought Stonehouse Childcare nursery in Leyland earlier this month.

Stonehouse Childcare, which is rated Good by Ofsted and has served the Leyland area for over 30 years, offers places for 90 children and features large playrooms as well as outside space including a sports field and outdoor classroom.

Just Childcare now provides more than 3,600 childcare places across its nurseries, all of which are rated Outstanding or Good.

David Johnson, chief executive of Just Childcare, said, ‘The last few years have seen Just Childcare go through a very exciting period of growth. Not only have we reached this key milestone of acquiring our 50th setting, we’ve also extended our reach to the South West of England, where we now have 13 nurseries.’

The latest acquisitions see the group move from the ninth to the fifth biggest nursery chain in the UK, according to Nursery World's 2018 Nursery Chains.

The group has experienced rapid growth since owning just seven nurseries in 2015.

It has acquired 19 nurseries since May last year, when it extended its reach to the South West of England with the acquisition of Abbeywood Tots nursery, a group of five settings in Bristol.

Other recent acquisitions are all four Primley Park Nurseries in Leeds in September and eight Little Acorns and Stepping Stones settings in December.
