- How do you feel about being shortlisted for the Lewisham Mayor's Business Awards under the category of Best Employee?
I can't believe it. It's great to be recognised for the work I do. I really enjoy my job and can't believe how lucky I am to be working at the nursery and with such a great team of staff.
- Why were you nominated for the award?
My manager Janice put me up for the award for my dedication to providing nutritious meals to over 60 children and tailoring food to suit children with severe allergies by looking for recipes on gluten-free websites. Parents often ask me for my recipes to use at home, as they say my meals are of restaurant quality.
- How long have you worked at the nursery?
I started at the nursery last June. Before working as a nursery chef I used to run pubs and clubs and appeared on the TV programme Taste the Nation, earning the nickname Queen of Puddings.
