A call for 'robust and effective child protection procedures

A call for 'robust and effective child protection procedures to safeguard children' in Wales has come from the Welsh Assembly's health and social services minister. Speaking at the launch of the All Wales Child Protection Procedures, Jane Hutt said recent reports into abuse scandals had underlined the importance of agencies working together. She added, 'The Assembly government will take a lead on child protection issues where this is necessary, but I am keen to promote collaborative working and to encourage innovative ideas across all sectors. The procedures were produced by area child protection committees from across Wales.
