A learning website

A learning website designed to support early literacy and numeracy skills has beaten off competition from the BBC to win a prestigious competition for creativity and design. Storybook Web won the interactive primary learning category in the Society for Screen-Based Learning awards. The site, aimed at Primary 1 to 3 children, contains activities linked to key curriculum themes. Children can listen to authors such as Debi Gliori, Scoular Anderson and Mairi Hedderwick reading extracts from their books and play games based on the stories. The site, at www.ltscotland.com/storybook, was developed by Learning and Teaching Scotland in partnership with Lomond Productions, with funding from the National Grid for Learning.
