A new play amenity has been created at the Ashington Family Centre by trainees from Northumberland Training Agency and artist Alison Whalton from the Headway Theatre in Blyth, with the help of a 3,850 grant from the Northumberland Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership. The trainees installed play structures, seating areas, stepping stones, sand and bark pits and child-friendly plants, while Ms Whalton worked with local children and parents on a play yard mural.
