Nursery World - Alien numbers

'I wish I was an alien,' said Emily one day at nursery, 'Then I could have two heads.' 'Why would you want two heads?' asked Rizwan, her best friend.

'Why would you want two heads?' asked Rizwan, her best friend.

'So I could think twice as fast!' replied Emily.

Up to now, Rizwan was the best jigsaw maker. 'How fast could you finish this bird jigsaw then?' he asked, pointing to the one with the most pieces.

'In less than a minute,' boasted Emily. 'I'd use one of my heads to think about the puzzle, and the other head to watch real birds in the trees outside.'

'Oh,' said Rizwan, as he went off to practise his jigsaw skills (with just the one head).

'I wish was an alien,'said Emily to her dad at home later that day, 'then I could have three legs.'
