An inspection appeal was well worth it

I wrote to Nursery World earlier this year about my nursery's Ofsted inspection, which we were in the process of appealing against (Letters, 19 April).

I am delighted to say that the inspection was declared null and void andthe report was removed from the internet. We were inspected again in May2007 and we received 'Good' for care and 'Outstanding' for the qualityand standards of nursery education.

This has hugely restored staff morale, which was at such a low ebb afterthe first inspection. The parents are also delighted.

My grateful thanks go to one of the fathers who wrote the appeal onbehalf of the nursery team and parents.

The whole appeal process was time-consuming and emotionally draining, but the result made it all worthwhile. If anyone wishes to have a copyof the appeal, or to discuss it with me, then please feel free tocontact me.
