Big Lottery Fund's NewOpportunities for PE and Sport

The Big Lottery Fund's NewOpportunities for PE and Sport programme has announced a further 4.2m of funding to create high-quality sports provision and increase participation rates. The extra money will support ten new projects, including a floodlit synthetic turf pitch for Winifred Holtby School and partner primary schools in Kingston Upon Hull, four sports halls at Midhurst Grammar School in West Sussex and an outdoor adventure centre at Paston Farm in Peterborough. Since the programme began in November 2002, over 554m has been spent on new facilities.
