An annual conference for early years practitioners held by Brent Council in north-west London was attended by more than 200 delegates. The keynote speaker at the conference on 8 March was early years expert and author Marjourie Ouvry, who spoke on this year's theme, the importance of outdoor play. Lesley Fox-Lee, head of early years at Brent Council, said afterwards, 'Playing and learning in the open air is one of the rights and joys of childhood. Early years practitioners recognise this and that is why there has been so much interest in the conference.'
