Budding storytellers

Budding storytellers are being invited to showcase their skills, by entering the Little Tiger Press competition to find the best new writing talent in children's books. Little Tiger Press is offering the chance of publication and a cash prize of 2,000 to the author of the winning picture book story, which should be original, fiction-based, and no less than 200 and no more than 750 words. The competition will be judged by a panel consisting of the managing director and publisher of Little Tiger Press, Monty Bhatia; the editorial director of the Travelling Book Company, Fiona Waters; children's authors Vivian French and Nick Sharratt; and children's fiction reviewer Nicolette Jones. All entries must be at the Little Tiger Press offices no later than 1 September 2003 to be eligible for judging, and the winner will be informed by 29 November.
