However, you do get the odd one who will not perform to the standards set down by the team, and this is when we get the problems, as set out in my first letter (22 September).
I do not wish to keep files on people who have worked at my nursery, but I do feel that the checks on potential nursery practitioners need to be more in depth and should start with colleges and training providers.
I would like to thank Sandra Haynes of the Bungalow Day Nursery, Manchester, for her support and I am sure that she and many others will agree when I say we are trusted to look after people's most valuable 'treasures', their children. We are there to keep them happy and safe from harm and abuse. I feel that we need to do more to protect our little ones; after all, they are our future.
