We seem to be knee-deep in toys and resources promoting healthy eating and fitness at the moment. Which, of course, is no bad thing. You can find out more about some of these products on our news pages (see pages 4-9), in our reviews sections (pages 16-21) and in the feature on page 24, which covers equipment to entice even the most reluctant child in your out-of-school club to take part in some physical activity. We also have a great range of trikes, bikes and other ride-ons for the toddlers in your care. Apparently stabilisers have had their day and the current theory is that children learn to balance and gain in confidence from a pedal-free, push-along bike, making the transition to the proper thing that much easier. You can find out what's available on page 10.

Elsewhere, we look at corrals and playpens for the very young, which really come into their own in the summer months, allowing the tiniest children to play safely outside (page 12), and at the best sand play equipment around (page 14).

We hope there are many warm, sunny days ahead but, if not, we have plenty of ideas to keep the children happy and stimulated indoors. The feature on stamps and stickers shows how these simple products still have plenty of child appeal (page 22), and we take a look at the impressive range of modelling materials now available (page 28).

You can also try your luck in one of our free prize draws (page 26). This time we have four terrific sets of Melissa and Doug developmental toys to give away and some brand new maths resources from BEAM Education. Someone has to win and it could well be you!

Have a great summer.
