From home to nursery for childminder

Management Provision
A childminder's home childcare business is expanding into a purpose-built nursery setting.

Honey Beez Childcare, which practises the Montessori method and has 12 children enrolled, currently operates from a converted terraced house opposite Sunderland Royal Hospital in Tyne and Wear.

Early next year it is moving to a former nursery above a soft play area five miles away to accommodate the growing business.

Owner Claire Greensit said, 'Because of the lack of space in our current setting, we are limited as to what activities we can do with the children. Having rooms across two floors is also not very practical, as I am disabled.

'A parent told me about the empty premises above the soft play area where she works. It was the perfect opportunity, as our lease is coming to an end and there is a real demand for childcare in the area where the new nursery is based.'
