The National Safeguarding Children e-Academy has donated 2,000 to charities working with children in Britain and overseas.

Since 2007, the academy, part of e-training course provider the Virtual College, based in West Yorkshire, has donated more than £54,000 to children's charities. Those to benefit this year include Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough, ESCAYP, which supports children and young people via children's centres in West Yorkshire, and Friends of Blaenau Children's Centre in Llandybie Ammanford in Wales, raising money for a garden project for schools.
