Grimas is an unusual game based on facial expressions. Each of the players -there can be up to four - dons one of five dressing-up items. They then get five cards, each showing a face with a particular expression. They have to gather all the five faces wearing their accessory - nose, tie, whatever - each one of which has a different expression. The game is played like Happy Families, except that the players have to make the relevant face - happy, sad, etc - instead of asking for it.

Verdict; Our tester's report on the product in action

Opinions on this game were sharply divided. Some nursery staff found it too difficult for young children, but others, such as Marie Ferguson, head at St Patrick's Nursery School in Kilsyth, Scotland, were very much in favour. According to Marie, 'Grimas is a very popular game. The children enjoy putting on a different persona with their bow tie or their red nose. They need an adult to help them, but they do play the game properly all the way through. The other children gather round to watch and they all laugh. My only complaint is that the set needs more mirrors.'
